These course is the main focus of the learning aspect of the Rok Kern study tours. During your time in-country with us, you will meet the staff of CIF and learn about how CIF and our partner organisations are working to help children grow up in loving families in Cambodia.
During your preparation, you would have learnt about the harms that are caused when children grow up in institutions. During your time with us, you will learn about the alternative. You will learn about how different NGOs and the government, are working together to have a combined vision of seeing children grow up in loving families and communities.

The content of this course will assist students in their understanding of the organisation Children in Families and some of our partner agencies. Through this course students will learn the personal stories of the staff and the journey of CIF to ensure that students feel informed for when they communicate with people back at home. This course also gives students a behind-the-scenes look at the organisation, to help better inform what they could advocate for. This course, together with our ethical communication course provides the foundation for our ‘Championing a cause “ course.
The content of this course will assist participants in their understanding of the organisation Children in Families and some of our partner agencies. Learn about how Christian agencies have been at the fore-front of family based care in Cambodia. Get to know their staff and identify ways that you can support their ministries in the future.
